Program Overview:

The minor in Gerontologyis offered to all interested traditional and non-traditional students. The minor requiires 5 courses from various disciplines and a minimum of a 3 credit internship in an organization which provides services to older adults. Students gain an appreciation for older adults, knowledge regarding the aging process and experience and opportunities to interact with older adults. Specialized coursework is also available to students. Students use the acquired knowledge and experiences in their personal and professional lives. The ultimate goal is to enhance the lives of older adults.
